I'm a few days late posting this but my sis-in-law Amber had her baby Wednesday. He was born around lunch time and weighed in at 7lbs 4oz. Since she had him in Little Rock we haven't had a chance to visit and meet him in person yet. But from the pics I've seen I can tell little J looks a lot like his daddy. And he's a pretty baby! Some newborns look alien-ish but not this little guy!

Unfortunately, it turns out the doctors were right with their Spina Bifida diagnosis. When Jaxson was a few hours old they transferred Jaxson to Arkansas Children's Hospital so he could be evaluated. They ran tests on him yesterday and he is in surgery right now (Friday morning) to remove the cyst on his spine. There are different types of Spina Bifida and right now we're hoping for the form that's called Meningocele. This is where the vertebrae develop normally and the nervous system is undamaged. The doctor told Amber they wouldn't know exactly which form of SB he had until they did the surgery. So right now we're praying for things to work out in the best possible way they can. It's hard to imagine a little baby having such serious surgery when he's only a few days old!
